Sorella What You Do
To Me (4:45)
Producer: Michael Castaldo
Writer: C. Virola

MJM 7275 (CD Single)
Highly
videogenic female duo is ready to invade crossover radio airwaves and
dancefloors with this lively pop/dance twirler. Diva wailing is in ample
supply here, as are youthful harmonies and slick retro-disco keyboard
references. One of several notable moments on the act's fine "Symmetry
In Motion" EP.

I review these two separate releases together
because they are both projects of the incredible Michael Castaldo
(SIC) whom you may have read about back in issue No. 53.
"Sorella"
means "sister" in Italian, and Lisa and Carla Virola
are an attractive example of that special relationship. These two harmonizing
songstresses have put together a four songs EP CD that harkens back to
some of the tastier dance music to come out of the late '80s, with the
'90s spice that Michael's capable production has highlighted. Playing
off each other's wonderful voices, the two girls create a sound that is
most pleasing. Then again, I'm a sucker for good harmonies anyway, but
I'm sure that all would agree that these two ladies have a real gift.
Carla is the lyricist and songwriter, and the girls share the lead vocal
duties. At press time I learned that Sorella's "What You Do To Me"
received a most favorable review in Billboard magazine! Impressive! You
go girls!
